The Truth Hurts

Millennials are largely the products of the generation of the sexual revolution.

Divorce destroys.

Abortion kills (literally).

Homosexuality isn’t kosher.

I could (but won’t) provide extensive commentary on each of these truths, but suffice it to say that they all have one thing in common: UNACCOUNTABILITY.

More “seasoned” generations too often criticize the naïveté, apathy, and entitlement of millennials, but fail to (or choose not) to recognize much of millennials’ guideless lives are directly the result of an even more clueless generation(s) that preceded them. When “sex, drugs, rock & roll” was the mantra of millions of Americans during the 1960’s and 70’s it should be no surprise that their progeny’s default truth is “relativism.” This is societal unaccountability.

If more spouses had a genuine understanding of the meaning of the institution of marriage, they would be less inclined to commit adultery, blame each other for irreconcilable differences, or simply pursue their own selfish desires to lead a different life without their spouse (no-fault divorce). A marriage should be a union of three persons: one man, one woman, and God. Divorce is unaccountability to each other and ultimately to God.

I believe abortion is the most egregious form of murder, irrespective of the stage of a child’s development. I know there are some who claim to be conservative who believe there are exceptions to abortion, and who would condone it under certain conditions i.e. during the first trimester, rape, and incest. However, I find their logic severely flawed and arguments want of substance. The only caveat I believe worthy of some value is the exception to save the mother’s life, but even that is to preserve life under extremely rare circumstances (especially with the advancements of modern medicine). Abortion is nearly always a selfish act of murder and offense to our Creator. The same Creator who is the author of our Constitutional rights. Abortion is unaccountability to God.

No matter how much the gay agenda tries to reinterpret historical social norms or twist scriptures, it’s a futile exercise. Rationalization and group-think cannot change centuries of biblical precedent and societal constructs. Much like heterosexual infidelity homosexuality is a selfish pursuit. It is an unaccountability to one's own preservation, as well as to God.

Obviously, there are plenty of other issues I could address, but I believe these are some of the most detrimental to our society, but even more to conservative values. I am perfectly aware the odds are great that any reader of this article has been effected or been a participant of one or more of these issues. However, that is exactly why I titled this article, "The Truth Hurts." We need to be reasonable and introspective, before we can take to the battlefield of ideas. My objective is not to necessarily condemn anybody, as much as it is to encourage conservatives to stop living behind the blinders of cognitive dissonance.
